Surah Al-Ahzab – Verse 35 (33:35) Description: This beautiful verse highlights the equality of men and women in the sight of Allah when it comes to faith, worship, and good deeds. It emphasizes that both genders are equally capable of achieving spiritual success and earning Allah’s mercy and reward. --- 🌙 Arabic Verse: > إِنَّ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَالْمُسْلِمَاتِ، وَالْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ، وَالْقَانِتِينَ وَالْقَانِتَاتِ، وَالصَّادِقِينَ وَالصَّادِقَاتِ، وَالصَّابِرِينَ وَالصَّابِرَاتِ، وَالْخَاشِعِينَ وَالْخَاشِعَاتِ، وَالْمُتَصَدِّقِينَ وَالْمُتَصَدِّقَاتِ، وَالصَّائِمِينَ وَالصَّائِمَاتِ، وَالْحَافِظِينَ فُرُوجَهُمْ وَالْحَافِظَاتِ، وَالذَّاكِرِينَ اللَّهَ كَثِيرًا وَالذَّاكِرَاتِ، أَعَدَّ اللَّهُ لَهُم مَّغْفِرَةً وَأَجْرًا عَظِيمًا (Surah Al-Ahzab 33:35) --- 🌿 English Translation: > “Indeed, the Muslim men and Muslim women, the believing men and believing women, the obedient men and obedient women, the truthful men and truthful women, the patient men and patient women, the humble men and humble women, the charitable men and charitable women, the fasting men and fasting women, the men who guard their chastity and the women who do so, and the men who remember Allah often and the women who do so — for them Allah has prepared forgiveness and a great reward.” --- ✨ Explanation (Tafsir): 1. Equality in Deeds and Reward: Allah makes it clear that both men and women are equal in spiritual potential. Their value is not based on gender, but on their faith and actions. 2. List of Virtues: This verse lists ten qualities of true believers — submission, faith, obedience, truthfulness, patience, humility, charity, fasting, chastity, and remembrance of Allah. These are the core values of a righteous Muslim life. 3. Recognition of Women’s Role: At that time, some women asked the Prophet ﷺ why men were mentioned more often in revelations. In response, Allah revealed this verse, affirming that women’s efforts and good deeds are equally honored. 4. Promise of Reward: For those who live by these values, Allah promises forgiveness (maghfirah) and a great reward (ajr azeem) — meaning Paradise and eternal success. --- 💖 Lesson: This verse teaches that spiritual excellence has no gender. Every believer — man or woman — can earn Allah’s love and Paradise through sincerity, devotion, and righteous actions.
