Allah is talking to Bani Israel|Surah Albaqarah|
Surah Al-Baqarah (2:47) Arabic: يَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ اذْكُرُوا نِعْمَتِيَ الَّتِي أَنْعَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَأَنِّي فَضَّلْتُكُمْ عَلَى الْعَالَمِينَ Transliteration: Yā Banī Isrā'īla uzkurū ni‘matī allatī an‘amtu ‘alaykum wa annī faḍḍaltukum ‘alā al-‘ālamīn English Translation: “O Children of Israel! Remember My favor which I bestowed upon you and that I preferred you above all the worlds.” --- Explanation / Tafsir: In this verse, Allah (SWT) addresses the Children of Israel (Bani Isra’il) — the descendants of Prophet Ya‘qub (Jacob) — reminding them of His countless blessings and favors. “Remember My favor” — Allah is calling them to recall how He saved them from Pharaoh’s tyranny, gave them prophets, revealed scriptures, provided food like manna and quails, and guided them through hardships. “I preferred you above all the worlds” — This means that Allah granted them superiority in their time by choosing many prophets from among them, granting them divine laws, and giving them honor and knowledge. However, this preference was conditional on their obedience and faith. When they disobeyed, this honor was removed.
