Surah Al baqarah last verse

Explanation and Tafsir: 1. “Allah does not burden a soul beyond its capacity” This means Allah is Merciful and Just — He never imposes obligations or trials on anyone beyond what they can handle. Every hardship or command is within a person’s strength and ability. 2. “It will have what it has earned, and it will bear what it has done” Every person is responsible for their own deeds. Good deeds benefit the doer, and bad deeds harm only the one who commits them. No one bears another’s sin. 3. “Our Lord! Do not punish us if we forget or make a mistake” This part is a humble prayer for Allah’s forgiveness if we commit errors unintentionally or out of forgetfulness. According to a hadith, Allah accepted this dua and said, “I have done so.” 4. “Do not lay upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us” Earlier nations, like the Children of Israel, faced strict laws and heavy burdens because of their disobedience. The believers ask Allah for ease and mercy instead. 5. “Do not make us bear what we have no strength to bear” This is a plea to be protected from unbearable trials, calamities, or obligations. 6. “Pardon us, forgive us, and have mercy on us” These three requests — pardon (ʿafw), forgiveness (maghfirah), and mercy (raḥmah) — cover all forms of Allah’s kindness: removing sins, forgiving shortcomings, and granting mercy in this life and the next. 7. “You are our Protector, so help us against the disbelieving people” This final part affirms faith and reliance on Allah as the Guardian and Helper against all enemies of truth and faith. --- Virtues: The last two verses of Surah Al-Baqarah (Ayahs 285–286) were revealed directly from beneath Allah’s Throne, as mentioned in Sahih Muslim. The Prophet ﷺ said: > “Whoever recites the last two verses of Surah Al-Baqarah at night, they will suffice him.” (Bukhari & Muslim) Meaning — they will protect, comfort, and be enough for him in this world and the Hereafter.
