Seedance 2.0 is ByteDance's AI video model, and "Seedance 2.0 free" is one of the most searched questions about it. Most of the pages that answer it are wrapper sites selling credits. This guide gives the straight answer: what Seedance 2.0 is, every real way to use it, what each one costs, how it compares with Kling 3.0 and Veo 3.1, and the rules around it, checked on ByteDance's own pages and reputable reporting on 4 November 2026.
Key takeaways
No official source offers unlimited free Seedance 2.0. Dreamina's free daily credits cover about 7 seconds a day.
The cheapest per second is ByteDance's BytePlus API: about $0.15 a second at 720p. Apps cost more but need no API key.
Seedance 2.0 makes clips up to 15 seconds with sound; Seedance 2.5 goes to 30 seconds.
No real faces as references on the official API, and Hollywood studios have objected to the model.
What is Seedance 2.0?
Seedance 2.0 is an AI video model from ByteDance Seed, released on February 12, 2026. It generates video and stereo audio together, can make multi-shot clips of 4 to 15 seconds, and accepts up to 9 images, 3 videos and 3 audio clips as references, in six aspect ratios plus an adaptive one. It launched at 480p and 720p; the standard model on ByteDance's BytePlus API now also renders 1080p and 4K, while the cheaper Fast and Mini versions stay at 720p.
Its successor, Seedance 2.5, launched on July 31, 2026, with single shots of 4 to 30 seconds and up to 50 references.
Is Seedance 2.0 free?
Only in small amounts. ByteDance's own creative app, Dreamina, gives US free accounts 120 credits a day, with smaller or different allowances elsewhere. Dreamina charges 17 credits a second for Seedance 2.0 at 720p, so a day's free credits cover about 7 seconds of video, or one 4-second clip, and paid plans remove the Dreamina watermark from downloads.
The sites that promise "free unlimited Seedance 2.0" are third parties, and both we checked say they aren't affiliated with ByteDance. Seedance2ai.io offers one free Seedance Mini video a day at 480p and up to 5 seconds. Seeddance.io gives 5 free credits; its "unlimited" is a 7-day window on its $149-a-month Premium plan, for clips up to 10 seconds, and using it makes the order non-refundable.
Every way to use Seedance 2.0
Option | Who it's for | Free? | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
Dreamina (ByteDance) | Trying it in a browser | 120 credits a day (US) | Paid plans for more |
BytePlus API (ByteDance) | Developers | Not stated | $0.76 per 5 s at 720p |
fal.ai | Developers | No | $0.30 per second at 720p |
AITube AI Studio (ours) | Creators who want an app | First video free (Seedance Lite) | From 53 credits per 5 s (2.0 Fast) |
If you write code, the BytePlus API is the cheapest per second, and fal.ai is a simpler way to call it at about twice the price. If you'd rather not touch an API, an app is easier: Dreamina for a few free seconds a day, or AITube, where you pay per clip with credits, can switch between Seedance 2.0, Kling, Veo and other models, and can publish the result to an audience.

Seedance 2.0 vs Kling 3.0 vs Veo 3.1
Seedance 2.0 | Kling 3.0 | Veo 3.1 | |
|---|---|---|---|
Maker | ByteDance | Kuaishou | |
Sound | Yes, stereo | Yes | Yes |
Longest single clip | 15 s | 15 s | 8 s |
References | 9 images, 3 videos, 3 audio | Images | Up to 3 images |

Seedance 2.0 takes the widest range of references, including video and audio clips. On ByteDance's own API it costs well under half of Veo 3.1 per second, though on fal.ai Kling 3.0 is the cheaper of the two. Veo 3.1 costs the most and makes the shortest single clips. Sora 2 is no longer an option: OpenAI shut down the Sora API on September 24, 2026, after closing the Sora app in April.
Rules and controversy
No real faces as references: ByteDance's official API rejects reference images and videos showing real human faces, and CapCut restricted real faces when it launched the model, adding invisible watermarks and C2PA content labels.
Hollywood objections: Disney sent ByteDance a cease-and-desist letter on February 13, 2026, and the Motion Picture Association sent its own on February 21.
A paused rollout: in March 2026 ByteDance reportedly paused the global rollout, and two US senators asked it to shut Seedance down.
No lawsuit yet: as of mid-2026, TechTimes reported no studio had sued over Seedance.
Whatever app you use, don't prompt real people's likenesses or copyrighted characters, and label realistic AI video when you post it.
