فَتَلَقَّىٰ آدَمُ مِن رَّبِّهِ كَلِمَاتٍ فَتَابَ عَلَيْهِ ۚ إِنَّهُ هُوَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ Transliteration: Fatalaqqā Ādamu min rabbihi kalimātin fatāba ‘alayh, innahu huwa at-tawwābur-raḥīm. Translation (Saheeh International): “Then Adam received from his Lord some words, and He accepted his repentance. Indeed, it is He who is the Accepting of repentance, the Most Merciful.” --- 🌸 Explanation: This verse beautifully describes Allah’s mercy and forgiveness after the mistake made by Prophet Adam (A.S.) and Hawwa (Eve) when they ate from the forbidden tree. 1. “Then Adam received from his Lord some words” — After realizing his mistake, Adam (A.S.) was deeply regretful. Allah, out of His mercy, taught Adam special words to ask for forgiveness. These words are mentioned in another verse of the Qur’an (Surah Al-A‘rāf 7:23): > “Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers.” These were the words (du‘ā) of repentance that Allah inspired Adam to say. 2. “And He accepted his repentance” — Allah immediately forgave Adam (A.S.) because of his sincere repentance and humility. This shows that Allah does not reject a servant who turns back to Him with a pure heart. 3. “Indeed, He is the Accepting of repentance, the Most Merciful” — Allah is At-Tawwāb, meaning He continuously accepts repentance — again and again. And Ar-Raḥīm, the Most Merciful — His mercy covers all creatures, especially those who repent. --- 🌿 Lessons from this Verse: 1. Human beings can make mistakes, but the best among them are those who quickly repent. 2. Allah Himself teaches His servants how to seek forgiveness. 3. No sin is too great if one sincerely turns back to Allah. 4. Repentance (Tawbah) opens the door to mercy, hope, and renewal. 5. Allah’s mercy always outweighs His wrath — He loves to forgive. --- 💎 Summary: After the slip in Paradise, Adam (A.S.) did not despair — he turned back to Allah. Allah taught him words of repentance, forgave him, and reassured that He is always ready to forgive His servants who return with a sincere heart.
